Refund policy

Short version: try it free first. If something is wrong after you pay, tell us. We will treat you fairly.

Try before you pay

Every new account gets a 15-day free trial with the full app unlocked and no payment details needed. Please use it to check that PocketShell works on your phone or tablet and does what you need. You pay only if you decide to keep it.

Refunds within 14 days

You can ask for a refund within 14 days of your purchase. Write to support@pocketshell-app.com with the email address you paid with and a short reason. You can also contact Paddle directly through the link in your receipt email. We'd like to hear what went wrong, so we can fix it for you and for others, but a reason doesn't have to be a good one.

After 14 days

After that, refunds are not automatic. But if you have a genuine reason, for example:

please write to support@pocketshell-app.com. We read every message, answer honestly, and try to fix the problem first. If we can't fix it, we will refund you.

For bugs and technical problems you can also post on r/pocketshell on Reddit, where fixes and workarounds are shared. Please don't post your email address, payment details or license information there. Send those by email.

How a refund is paid

Our order process is handled by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Refunds are paid by Paddle to the card or payment method you used. They usually arrive within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. A refunded purchase also ends the license it paid for, so the app returns to its locked state on your devices. Your files and your Linux environment stay on your device and are not deleted.

Your legal rights

If you are in Australia, you have consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, including a right to a refund for a major failure, that this policy cannot exclude. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you also have the withdrawal rights described in Paddle's buyer terms. This page does not limit any right your country's consumer law gives you.

Chargebacks

Please contact us before you open a dispute with your bank. We can usually solve it faster. A chargeback ends the license that was bought with that payment.
