Legal
Terms of use
These terms apply to PocketShell, provided by Muhammad Soban Raees, a sole trader in Australia ("we"). Our order process is handled by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: you buy the license from Paddle, and Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase and payment. These terms govern your use of PocketShell itself. By installing or using PocketShell you agree to these terms.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use PocketShell on your own Android devices (up to five active devices per account). PocketShell is not open source. Do not copy, resell, reverse engineer or remove license checks, except where the law or a third-party license allows it.
Trial and purchase
New accounts get a 15-day free trial. To keep using PocketShell afterwards you buy the full license once, for €7.99, inside the app. Updates within the current major version are included. The price is in euros and does not include tax: Paddle adds any VAT, GST or sales tax that applies in your country and shows the total at checkout before you pay.
Refunds and right of withdrawal
You can ask for a refund within 14 days of your purchase, as described in our refund policy. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you also have the statutory withdrawal rights set out in Paddle's buyer terms. A refund ends the license it paid for.
Third-party software
PocketShell includes open-source components, including the Termux terminal libraries, PRoot and Debian, under their own licenses. Notices and source offers are published in the app and in the public releases repository. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses.
Your content and your environment
Your files and your Linux environment are yours. You are responsible for what you install and run there, including third-party agents and tools and their own terms.
No warranty beyond the law
If you are a consumer in Australia, you have guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, including a right to a refund or replacement for a major failure. If you live elsewhere, the mandatory consumer laws of your country apply in the same way. Apart from those rights, PocketShell is provided "as is". We do not exclude liability where the law does not allow it (for example for intent, gross negligence, injury, or under mandatory consumer law). Keep backups of anything important.
Termination
We may suspend a license for abuse, fraud or chargeback. You can stop using PocketShell at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. This does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.
